3. How to clean jewelry with natural stones
At Lavani we are big fans of jewelry with precious stones, and these require extra care.
This time we will use 3 rags, as we recommend not to immerse the jewelry directly in water to avoid any kind of friction.
Use a first cloth dampened with soap and water to gently rub the jewelry.
Once cleaned, rinse the jewel with another cloth dampened this time only with water.
3. Finally, dry the pieces with the dry cloth.
4. How to clean silver jewelry
Silver is a material that has more resistance than gold-plated jewelry, and we can use salt and lemon to clean it.
The steps to follow are as follows:
Cut a lemon in half and cover it with salt.
2. Gently rub the lemon over the surface of the jewel.
3. Rinse with warm water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
Baking soda? Good idea!
This product is perfect for cleaning gold jewelry, it is a slightly more elaborate process than the previous ones but effective.
Now... if the jewels have stones set in them, it is better to opt for a less complex trick like the ones explained above.
We will need baking soda, a glass container and aluminum foil.
1. First we must line the container with aluminum foil and place the jewel on the bowl so that it is in direct contact with the aluminum.
2. Next, we will have to sprinkle baking soda until the jewelry is completely covered.
After this, we must heat water and pour it over the jewel, so that it soaks for about 5 minutes.
4. Finally, we will have to rub very gently the jewels and once clean rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
6. Try to keep them always tidy.
If we want to avoid scratching our jewelry and keep it clean, it is essential to keep it organized in a case or jewelry box.
Storing jewelry separately and arranging them properly is essential for them to be kept in perfect condition. By keeping them in a closed case we isolate them from dust and humidity, factors that often cause their deterioration.
7.Avoid perfumes and make-up.
It is preferable that you perform your beauty and facial care routine before putting on jewelry.
The perfumes and make-up we use every day have chemical components that cause our jewelry to blacken.
At Lavani we create pieces with organic stones and materials and the contact of these jewels with products of this style make the jewel lose its natural shine.
8. Keep them at a stable temperature.
Temperature changes cause stones such as colored quartz and agates to be damaged. That is why it is best that, although we love the sun, avoid wearing them on the beach in high temperatures.
Jewelry cleaners? Better not.
Using jewelry cleaning products with unknown components seems risky to us.
These types of products are usually composed of chemicals that can tarnish gold-plated jewelry.
10. Be consistent!
The best trick to maintain them is to clean them periodically. Following the above tips and being careful: this is the only way to keep our jewelry always intact.
